Asparagus & Goat Cheese Tart
Crisp pastry layered with tangy goat cheese and fresh asparagus—a celebration of spring’s arrival. Light, elegant, and just right for sharing at the table.
Ingredients (serves 4–6)
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz fresh goat cheese
½ cup crème fraîche or ricotta
1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
1 tbsp olive oil
Flaky sea salt & freshly cracked pepper
Method
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll out puff pastry on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Score a 1-inch border around the edges.
Mix goat cheese with crème fraîche; spread evenly inside the border.
Arrange asparagus on top, drizzle with olive oil, and season.
Bake 20–25 minutes until pastry is golden and asparagus is tender.
Notes
Sourcing: Use fresh, local asparagus at peak season. A farmers market goat cheese will bring added depth and tang.
Suggested Pairing
2021 Suzanne’s Block Chardonnay — A tribute to spring’s arrival. The creamy tang of goat cheese and the green snap of asparagus draw out the wine’s stony minerality and round texture.
